Even during the wintertime, downtown megaclub Vivid is defined by a lengthy line of overdressed guys who are wearing too much cologne and shivering girls who are wearing so little clothing that they might as well be naked. The crowds pour in to this amazing 22,000 square foot venue for nights of drinking and dancing to DJ beats that thump out over the killer sound system. This downtown lounge offers an ultra swanky setting for sipping high-end cocktails, dancing, flirting with the devastatingly cute bar staff or relaxing in one of the VIP areas. Two years ago, folks from different parts of the local music spectrum gathered to vent their frustrations with what seemed like the entire city of San Jose. They eventually went public with their complaints about how San Jose lost its live-music mojo-and their dream that it could get the beat back.
